Pottstown, Pennsylvania: The day dawned clear and mild. We puttered about the room and then went to the Friendly’s Restaurant near-by for lunch.  While in the restaurant, we observed the arrival of Victor, Elaine, and Margaret and Lyd went to greet her mother.  By 1400, we were ready to leave for the wedding; I in my tux, and the women dressed for the event!  We drove to the Lakeside Inn.  Buddy, the photographer, was in full command and directed everyone to suit his needs.  As 1400 approached, he blended back and the wedding took form.  Not wanting to surprise the bride, I warned Kate, as we waited for her processional, about “butterscotch.”  The ceremony went off well and Victor spoke well.  The cocktail period was pleasant as the Inn staff reset from a ceremony to a reception.  Finally, around 1730, the Inn staff was ready and we proceeded in.  We formed a receiving line, with Lyd and me at the inception.  Guests were asked to find their flowers at a table which would direct them to their table assignment.  Dennis, the DJ, announced the members of the wedding party, starting with the MOB/FOB and ending with the bridal couple.  The buffet was incredible, from the pasta cooking station to the carved beef. Sal played “Pressure” on the piano.  We had a dollar dance, without the dollar.  The culmination of the evening occurred when the DJ got everyone up and we “swayed” to the bridal couple’s dance to “Piano Man.”  We then returned to the hotel, confident that everyone else was also retiring for the evening. While we were settled down for the evening, a knock on the door announced Sal, still in tux.  Moments later, most of the wedding party was in our room, some quite “under the influence.”  When the hotel management interfered, the party decided to move to a room surrounded by members of the wedding party.  This continued well into the wee hours.
