There must have been a little rain in the night. Mother went with us at
1315 to pick up Kate at the airport. She arrived shortly after 2 as
scheduled. Mother then joined us for cocktails, the opening of her
birthday gifts and dinner.
Sunday, May 22, 2005
We sat out on the back porch and watched old family videos of the farm
from 1990. After that, mother joined us and we went to the club for
lunch. Mother came to the house at 4 and we had tacos for the 4 of us. She
left just before 7.
Monday, May 23, 2005
Kate and I drove over to Atlantic Eye Institute. Dr. Shmunes
explained the SLT procedure in detail but would not let Kate remain in the
room during the procedure. We went to my office where she said hellos
before leaving with my car to visit JWJ. We 3 had lunch at Havana Jax
together. We went to mother’s for dinner for roast chicken. We got home
just before 7 and advised the O’Briens that we were home. They joined us
just after 7 with gifts for Kate. They gave her a business card holder
with a monogram and a silver pen with her name on it – an impressive
gift. They stayed until nearly 2200 and it was a wonderful visit.
Tuesday, May 24, 2005
Kate spent the day with mother. In the afternoon, Lyd and Kate
went shopping and bought her several nice outfits. Mother came for
dinner. She left just after 1900.
Wednesday, May 25, 2005
We got up at the normal time and the ladies packed. At 0830 we stopped at
mother’s to drop off the knitting she left behind the night before. On to
the airport, I dropped Lyd and Kate off for their joint flight at 0900.
1352: Kate’s E-mail says she is home safely. Lyd’s flight to SBY was
delayed until I left the office. The web site reports she arrived a few
minutes after 5. |
