Holiday Greetings
2005

We don't send Christmas newsletters (though we do like to get them!).  Therefore, once again, this year I decided to use the technology of the day, including links.  Strictly speaking, this is not a Christmas letter.  Those are missives in a pleasant type face, on fancy holiday paper, carefully folded and sent through snail-mail with something attached called a "postage stamp", what ever that is!

Lyd and I spent the Martin Luther King weekend at Walt Disney World in the Yacht Hotel on the concierge floor.  It rained the entire weekend and we had a wonderful time.  Jacksonville had a Super Bowl this year.  I spent two days directing air traffic at Herlong Field, an uncontrolled field, and had a great time.  In April, on their way back to Reading, Ann and Santo Ferrarello visited and we had a good time. On a sad note, in late April, we put our corgi Charlie down.  He was in pain and unable to perform daily functions.

Lyd continues at James Weldon Johnson Middle School teaching 7th grade science to the gifted and I'm still the Director of Research Services for the Duval County Public Schools. We will work for three more academic years before retiring.   Kate graduated from PA school, with honors, in May, and was inducted into the PA honor society of Pi Alpha. She came for a brief visit after graduation.  She is practicing medicine as a Physician Assistant with a family practice north-east of Reading. Sal is at Wyomissing Junior-Senior High School, west of Reading, teaching AP Statistics, AP Calculus BC and Algebra II.

I 'm still moderating Brain Brawl, our 27th year. I'm still officiating at the Commissioner's Academic Challenge, which Lyd and I attended in April, and the Panasonic Academic Challenge, which Lyd, Kate, Sal and I attended in June.

We built a headboard for the master bedroom and Lyd spent three weeks in June with her mother. I'm still on the board of directors of Junior Achievement here in Jacksonville, and Treasurer of Jacksonville Sister Cities Association.   We'll be spending Christmas in Salisbury, Maryland with Lyd's mother, Margaret.

Well, that is 2005, at least up to December 4.  Have a Merry Christmas.
