21st Commissioner's Academic Challenge at Walt Disney World Thursday, April 27, 2006 Rounds 1 through 3
We slept until nearly 7 and it was another beautiful morning. Lyd went to EPCOT and went through Spaceship Earth and then spent some time in the Living Seas. She enjoyed energy but the Life Pavilion was still closed. She walked over to the Land, but the wait for Soarin' was 50 minutes and the wait for the Living With the Land boat trip was 40 minutes, so she went through the butterfly garden on the way to Mexico where she shopped her way around World Showcase. I had the judges meeting, followed by the Division 1 orientation session. Three two-hour competitions were separated by lunch between the 1st and second rounds. Our home district of Duval County placed 3rd in their room, so they'll have to fight their way through Round 5 for a seat in the semi-finals on Saturday.

It is certainly no secret that we love the California Grill and come here at least twice on every visit to Walt Disney World. Tonight's reservation was a bit befuddled and was in the computer for 3/27 rather than 4/27. Disney magic prevailed, however, and we were whisked upstairs with no delay.
