Panasonic Academic Challenge - 2006

The 19th Panasonic Academic Challenge, Tom's 9th, is at the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. This annual event is a competition among states and territories of the United States giving us yet another opportunity to enjoy the fine WDW cuisine.

This was the 1st full day of competition.  I read questions in room PQ to competing teams in these 1st two rounds, and the results are found here.
Following the competitions we went to Narcoossee's for dinner. (Menu) Outside the lobby of the Grand Floridian, the wedding carriage for Disney's Wedding Chapel was waiting for a happy couple.

We started with a Vodka Martini for Lyd and a Manhattan for me ($7.25 each). My Manhattan was rather watery and Lyd reminded me that this was the case the last time we were here.

Fried Calamari: with a pepperoncini dressing ($12) Prince Edward Island Mussels with white wine, roasted garlic and parmesan cheese ($15)

We both had the Sautéed Shrimp served with farfelle pasta and a creamy herb pesto ($30) Most went back to the hotel in a take-out box.

The 2200 fireworks and boat parade finished the evening.
