Kate's July Visit

Kate flew in on July 12th for 4 days of family time with the Welsh's. As usual, much of the visit was anchored by meals.

On Thursday, the 13th, Tom took the day off. We went to the St. John's Town Center and Lyd and Kate "supported the economy" while Tom sat outside. We had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory.

Kate had:
VIETNAMESE SHRIMP SUMMER ROLLS
Delicate Rice Paper Rolled Around Asparagus, Shiitake Mushrooms, Carrots, Rice Noodles, Green Onion, Cilantro and Shrimp.
Served Chilled and not Fried

 
Lyd had:
SANTA FE SALAD
Lime-Marinated Chicken, Fresh Corn, Black Beans, Cheese,
Tortilla Strips, Tomato and Mixed Lettuces with a Spicy
Peanut-Cilantro Vinaigrette
Tom had:
LUNCH PIZZA AND SALAD
A Smaller Version of
BIG FIVE PIZZA
Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Onions and Peppers
with Mozzarella and Marinara Sauce
Served with a Small Green Salad

On Friday, the 14th, we lazied about the house before going out to the Sandollar for lunch.  We took the ferry over and Hecksher Drive back, picking up shrimp on the way home

Tom and Kate T&K had the New England clam Chowder Lyd had the crab bisque T&K had a very nice cashew crusted grouper and Lyd had a crab salad
When it's shrimp scampi, Tom does the cooking Served with a little pasta, and garlic breadsticks, this is one of our favorites.

On Saturday, July 15th, we invoked the Eastern Shore tradition of picking crabs.

There are 15 jumbos in the bag and it seems to have a life of its own as it is untied. This guy really doesn't want to go in there. Lyd piles lots of spices on top of each new entry Finally they are finished... ...and make it to the table.

Kate flew home on the 16th, but not before having brunch at Hidden Hills Country Club with parents and grandmother.
