Maryland Christmas - 2006

Wednesday, December 27, 2006

In the morning, we drove out to the farm, the family homestead from the 1830's to the 1990's. The appearance has changed -- there are now horse corrals around the house. The nearby Laws' cemetery is well kept.

The facade of the house has changed some. We are pleased to see the frolicking horses.

The family cemetery.
213 is named thus as the address is 213 N. Fruitland Park Rd in Fruitland Park, just south of Salisbury. Margaret and Tom hosted Lyd and Bill. Chef Phillips used to be a White house chef.
Margaret is the queen of the table. Everyone starts with a small taste of a squash soup that was excellent. Bill is her son from Denver.
Our 1st bottle came with the starters. The 2nd bottle came with dinner.
Lyd and I each enjoyed the Caesar Salad.
Margaret started with a Tuscan Bean Soup Bill had Mediterranean mussels
Well, the entrees were so good, the camera was forgotten until they were nearly consumed. Here however are the remains of....
Margaret, Bill and I each had the lobster special in a white sauce over angel hair pasta Lyd had the seafood portofino.
Bill and I pronounced ourselves quite full, but... Margaret had the creme brulee..
and Lyd had the pecan tart!
