Christmas Decorations 2007 |
We bought our tree on Friday, 11/23 from a nearby
Severt's lot as we have done for the last several years. Friday and
Saturday were spent decorating the house. This is usually a joyous
time, but it was spoiled by the FSU-Florida Football game. That is
another story.

There were
100's of trees on the truck. Lyd found ours rather quickly.
We paid $77.04 after our favored customer discount |
Ours fit
nicely in the trunk of my car. We usually just get rid of
the pine needles before putting a fresh load in the trunk. |
It has
arrived in the house, but, has not yet been mounted on the
stand. That is yet to come. |
|
|
I always start
by putting the lights on the tree. In previous
years, a lot of time was spent making the lights
work. This year, when a string didn't work, we
chucked it in the trash and moved on. We had
enough lights after the purge, so everything
worked. |
|
Our tradition
has always been to enjoy a bottle or two of Cold
Duck while we decorate. We use the two silver
goblets we have had since we got married. I put
a marker on mine so we'll know which-is-which.
It doesn't matter. Lyd always drinks from the
one which is the fullest. |

|
After the lights are
done, Lyd puts all of the ornaments on the tree. We have
accumulated a lot over the years. Lyd can tell a story
about every one. She also puts out the nutcrackers,
santas and all of the other ornaments. |
|
|
Our Nutcracker
collection sits at the bottom of the stairs. Peter
the Great (Pete) leads the team which extends down
to the left. |

|
In Florida,
Christmas trees made of shells are popular. |

All of our Santas
are on the mantel over the fireplace. |

Santa Frog is one
