Margaret's 98th Birthday Party

Margaret invited a few friends to her house for a party to celebrate her 98th birthday. The party was catered by David Easton of Another Fine Mess, who brought with him three nice ladies to assist. Guests began arriving at 4:00 p.m. and stayed until around 6:00 p.m. In addition to David's food, we added beer, wine and Whiskey Sour Punch.
David served:
  • Assorted Cheeses - Baked Brie, Chevre w/ Pistachios, Honey & Cracked Peppercorns
  • Assorted Fruits - Blueberries, Cantaloupe, Melon, Grapes, Pineapple, Strawberries
  • Zucchini Timbales' w/ Savory Beef & Sausage Stuffing
  • Pan Seared - Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp
  • Jumbo Lump Crab Dip; served w/ Baguette Slices & Crackers
  • Grilled Chicken Sates w/ Thai Peanut & Honey Mustard Dipping Sauces
  • Charbroiled Rack of Lamb "Lollichop's"
  • Whole Roasted Beef Tenderloin w/ Horseradish Cream Sauce; served w/ Rolls & Croissants
  • Seared Tuna [a late addition to the menu]

This was a great party and David produced a great feast. Prior to the party, Tom talked with David while he was grilling the tenderloin and the conversation turned to tuna. David surprised the party with a healthy offering of lightly seared tuna, perfectly sliced. While many of the guests enjoyed the tuna, Lyd and Margaret are not aficionados of this delicacy; Tom got the leftovers!
