Home Easter Weekend in Wyomissing

We were invited to Wyomissing for the Easter Weekend. Lyd did her normal Saturday morning Routines and Rituals (R&R) at Margaret's. We then dropped off Buddy at The Dog House and drove north. After stopping at the McDonalds in Herrington, we rolled into Wyomissing at 1300. Nico greeted us by name: “Gram” and “Pop.” He brought us books and climbed up, on his own, into our laps for reading. After a dinner of an eggplant casserole, he put away all of his toys and went up to bed at 2000 --- remarkable.

Nico likes to play in the ottoman. He calls her "Gam." He puts the shapes in the box. Kate's dinner. Nico's dinner. We went outdoors. They filled the bird feeder.

Sunday, Nico received an Easter Bunny and had an Easter egg hunt. The family started to arrive a little before 2 and we were at full strength by 3 for dinner. Kate's Easter Menu included: Honey Baked ham, Roasted lamb, potato casserole, crock pot mac-and-cheese, corn pudding, broccoli salad, crunchy salad, asparagus salad, spinach salad, bread/rolls, & assorted desserts. Nico had gone up before 2 for his nap, so he was a bit confused when he came down and found a full house. He quickly recovered and led many family members on a merry chase around the house. We had a wonderful day.

Shortly after he got up, we took him in the Library. There, he found his Easter Bunny and, quickly, found the colored plastic Easter Eggs. As he found each, he announced their color before putting them in the basket. Then it was time for some Cheerios for breakfast.

The tables are ready for dinner! The Kitchen table is for the young folks. The Dessert Table. The table for the senior set.

Many family members were in attendance. Carmen, Debbi and Santo. Ray, Gene and Sandie. Anna and Helen. Becky, Dan, Andrew and Matt. Matt, Becky, Lisa and Sal. Vicky and Dave.

We skipped breakfast and drove back to Maryland, Monday morning, in time to secure Buddy from The Dog House, before they closed for lunch. Ann and Kate wrote to say that Nico goes into our guest rooms in Wyomissing and pronounces, "Gam's Bed" and "Pop's Bed."
