Kitchen Renovation
5/19/2010
The kitchen was renovated by Messick Construction.
Wed, May 19 The cabinet door and the sink doors are in and the job is completed.
Thu, May 6 The floor is tiled and the trim completed, and the appliances are in. There is minor damage to the rear of the fridge
Wed, May 5 Don and Zach continued the floor tiling. The pocket door was cut a little shorter to accomodate the tile going underneath it.
Tue, May 4 Don and Zach continued started the floor tiling. The stove outlet arced, so it needs to be inspected.
Mon, May 3 Christine finished the painting and Dickey continued the electrical work.
Fri, Apr 30 Don and Zach grouted the backsplash and Christine continued the painting.
Thu, Apr 29 Don and Zach Ironsides put in the backsplash tile.
Wed, Apr 28 The trim work was completed. Dicky installed the under-cabinet lighting and other electrical work and Polliard worked on the duct work and the plumbing.
Tue, Apr 27 After only a weekend, Danny and his associates surprised us with the counter top! Rick completed most of the trim work.
Fri, Apr 23 Rob Messick spent some time on the dry wall and made notes on the work remaining. Danny and his assistant, John, from Mid-Shore Marble and Granite, spent an hour creating, on cardboard, the template for the kitchen counter. It will take about a week to cut it and bring it back for installation.
Thu, Apr 22 Chris and Rick finished up the kitchen cabinets though Rick had to leave for a short while when his 16-year-old son had a seizure at Parkside.
Wed, Apr 21 The cabinet installation resumed at 0830. We suspect the sink cabinet may not be compatible with the sink we ordered and sent an email to Greg. After consultations with Donnie, it was decided to alter the cabinet to accommodate the sink. Polliard sent a plumber to fix the family room toilet.
Tue, Apr 20 Cabinet installation started.
Mon, Apr 19 Robbie and Donnie Messick both stopped by. Christine began painting in the kitchen
Mon, Apr 12 Demolition began while we were in Orlando.
