Hickory Tree Removal
09/20/2010
We're having the 60' hickory tree removed.
From the leaf structure (4 pair and a single) and nuts (2-3 cm long with a green four-valved cover which splits off at maturity in the fall, and a hard, bony shell), it appears to be a bitternut hickory.
Wed, Sep 22 The removal of the tree is complete. The stump has been ground down and you can't even tell there ever was a tree.
Tue, Sep 21 Hale’s Tree Service was here, along with their 4 year-old boy, to begin taking down the bitternut hickory. They knocked off at 1715 and will return in the morning.
Mon, Sep 20 Jennifer brought Reed over to check the tree. I asked him for a quote for removing the entire tree. It was acceptable and I agreed. Later, his wife called. They had planned to sell the wood, but I gave it to Jennifer, so the price was increased to make up the difference, but still acceptable. The tree should be removed tomorrow.
Sun, Sep 19 Our neighbor, Jennifer, had a conversation with Lyd about some limbs from our big tree which extend over her yard and don't look too good. We agreed that she'll call a tree surgeon and get an estimate.
