Earl was born August 25th as Tropical Depression 7.
He was a tropical storm later the same day.
He was a hurricane by the 29th, aimed at Puerto Rico.
By the time he was north of Puerto Rico, on the 30th, he was a category 4, aimed at the outer banks of North Carolina.
Lyd and Buddy spent Thursday night, Sep 2 at Margaret's, as Earl was expected off the Maryland coast on Friday morning.
Friday morning, a Category 2, he was well off the coast and did little to the Eastern Shore.
He did continue up the coast giving Long Island and Cape Cod a good pasting before dissipating on the 4th.
