Jiko for dinner
The food here is always good and we sat at the “Cooking Place” which is the counter at the stage kitchen.
We ordered a nice bottle of Pinotage from Stellenbosch as we have loved this vintage ever since my trip to South Africa in 1999.
Our server, Stephanie, presented us with a small bowl of soup. Michelle presented us with a taste of Tibs Watt.
Lyd had Jiko salad. I had Market Salad.
We both ordered the same entrée of Braised Beef Short Rib.
We teased Stephanie for bringing knives for the dinner as they weren’t necessary.
We have enjoyed braised meat ever since Anette Gray, the chef de cuisine at Jiko at the time, introduced us to the artistry that is braising.
