Dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. We left BLT at 1700 in the car to avoid double busses to Yacht Hotel. We were greeted by Felipe, the Area Manager and given a table by the front window, arguably the best table in the house. David was our server. The holiday charade continues as cast members greeted Margaret with “Happy Birthday.” We elected to go the route of the specialty cocktails. Lyd had a Wildberry Margarita, but it wasn’t to her liking. Margaret had the Grand Smash and enjoyed it. I had the Black Cherry Twist. I asked for ice water as well. That drink was so smooth I knew if drank it down, I’d be in trouble. We ordered a bottle of Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage. Sous Chef, Jeffrey, brought us an Amuse Bouche. The ladies each had the Filet Mignon, and shared a side of creamed spinach. I had the New York Strip, and, since I don’t do creamed spinach, a side of mushroom caps. The cast presented Margaret with a Happy Birthday cupcake and the ladies ordered desserts of Habanera flourless chocolate cake and crème Brule. We took about half of our dinner back to the room. As the week progresses, it gets harder and harder to consume the excellent food. Fortunately, BLT rooms have full kitchens, so we can make good use of the leftovers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
