We're sailing to and from New Orleans, aboard the "Queen of the Mississippi" on our 2nd cruise with American Cruise Lines.
At 0610, it’s 35 on the Mississippi River near Houmas House, LA. We had early morning tea and coffee from the 4th deck lounge, aft. It doesn’t seem to have a name, so we’ll suggest Chesapeake Lounge. Lyd brought Millie in for a visit and to teach her how to operate the Keurig. At 0730, we went down for breakfast. Lyd had already had a few pastries, so she opted for prunes and cottage cheese. I had scrambled eggs, bacon and corned beef hash. At 0915, the walking tour of Houmas House Plantation departed, but without us. The gang plank crossed some rough terrain which ended in a bit of a climb to the top of the levee. We spent the morning in the Chesapeake Lounge, where, at 1000, warm cookies were distributed. Lyd spent some time on the bike machine on the 5th deck and I gathered several other men and we discussed politics and movies. At 1153 we were back on the river.
