2014-01-21 0730:
The forecast is for 100% chance of snow today and tonight.
The local schools are already closed in anticipation.
It could start around 1100 with 4-10 inches possible.
Margaret will get her hair done, but whether or not to go out to lunch is questionable 1300: We went to lunch at Fratelli's without Margaret. No Snow! 1600: A light dusting has started while the radar shows heavy snow to the north. It's accumulating on the ground and garage roof, but nothing on the street or driveway. 1800: The snow is now falling steadily and the temperature has dropped to 26o. The snow is sticking to the driveway and the ground, but still not the street. 2000: The temperature has fallen to 22 and the snow is blowing hard and sticking to the street as well. 2014-01-22 0700: The snow has stopped, leaving about 4". The temperature is 9o. There is no evidence of any vehicular traffic and Jennifer, who asked us to pick up her newspapers in her absence, has none to secure. The local schools are, again, closed. Lyd accepted my advice that she not attempt to go to her mother's this morning, leaving that task to the 24/7 caregivers. Later, Lyd swept our sidewalks and Jennifer’s front walk. Our street is passable, but has not been plowed. At 2230, the temperature had climbed to 10! 2014-01-23 0800: It's 8 degrees and the roads are treacherous. Schools remain closed, but Lyd did make it over to her mother's house this morning. We'll not try to go to lunch at Goin' Nuts, as planned, because the footing is too slippery for Margaret to try it. | |||||||||||||||||
