We had an Operations Sunday.
I asked for something different, so I was assigned Union Turn, with a conductor.
This involved taking a pair of locomotives and a string of freight cars to Pennsboro where we had to drop off the cars at specific sidings and pick up the cars there for return to Parkersburg Yard.
This involves several "turns" of moving the locomotives from one end of the consist to the other so cars can be pulled from some sidings and pushed into others.
This was complicated by one bad switch which had a tendency to derail the trains.
Also, the Dixitrax receiver is often blocked, so throttle commands are often unreliable.
Still and all, it was a lot of fun even though the layout command computer went down for about 30 minutes and nothing was running.
