At 0534, it’s 42 and overcast. We were up at 0515 and left the house at 0630. The drive to the airport was effortless as was TSA screening. We departed on runway 14 on time and landed 20 minutes early on runway 35 which facilitates an easy taxi to Terminal F. We took the shuttle bus to terminals A/B. Enroute, walking, to gate B9, we spotted Villa B and had a pair of sausage, egg & cheese bagels (4.69) which weren't bad. Our A321 pushed back from gate B9 at 1009. PHL traffic delayed our takeoff until 1039 from 09L. Our flight was uneventful and landed at 1245 on runway 17L. Chris Peters, from Mears Transportation, was waiting for us and we quickly secured our bags and he took us to Bay Lake Tower. Upon check-in, we learned that room key cards are no longer issued and everything is based on the wristbands. Without unpacking, we went down to the Wave. We picked up libations for the room and headed back to unpack. At 1830, we went down to the fourth floor of the Contemporary to the check-in desk for the California Grill. We were vaguely aware of the fireworks and boat parade, as we had already gone to bed with the window open to let in the Florida night air.
