Arthur was born as Tropical Depression One and soon developed into a Tropical Storm and then a Category 2 hurricane before coming ashore on the North Carolina Outer Banks.
Arthur left the Outer Banks and raced northeast passing Long Island and Cape Cod before
dissipating near Nova Scotia.
