As I have done before, I awoke 3 minutes before the 0500 alarm. I quickly showered and dressed, as did Lyd. We left the house, Lyd drIving, shortly before 0600. We stopped at a Burger King in Easton for a couple of Sausage, egg and biscuit croissants and some rather poor tater tots. After I ate, and shortly before Kent Island, I took over the wheel. Without incident, we arrived at the Amtrak garage and parked on the 2nd level. We took the shuttle bus over to the airport and checked 3 of our 4 bags through to LGA. TSA Precheck worked well and we proceeded to Gate C1. There, we learned, via text messaging, that Becky was on an earlier flight and Jerry and Linda were about to depart. We left BWI on time for the short flight to PHL. Once on the ground, we took the shuttle from the "F" terminal over to "B." We stopped at Cibo and enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine and Bruschetta and Tuna Tartare. The flight from PHL to LGA was quick and early. We captured our bags and took a cab to the Grand Hyatt next to Grand Central Station. We checked in to room 3236 and contacted Linda. They were headed out on an errand and advised us to get a little rest, which required no urging. At 1730, we all met in the lobby, which was difficult as the elevators were in high demand. With Brian as our guide, we headed into Grand Central Station and found the “7” train to Times Square. From there we hiked all the way to 8th Avenue before getting to 43rd Street and hiking all the way back to Heartland Brewery and Chop House. We walked across the street, in a beginning rain, to the Sondheim Theatre and “Beautiful, The Carole King Musical.” We found the subway and took the “S” train back to the Hyatt, finishing the day at 2330 and 68o in a light rain.
