At 0605, it’s 72 in Salisbury. We beat the 0600 alarm. We arrived in PHL without incident. After helping an elderly gentleman and his grandson find their gate for their Memphis flight, we joined Sal, Kate, Dominic, & Leo (SKDL) at gate B15. We boarded and, with permission, Dominic visited the flight deck, complete with pictures by the First Officer. At the Captain's suggestion, Dominic issued a "Welcome Aboard" to all the passengers on the plane’s PA system. Although we left the gate on time, we were #10 for departure. We actually arrived 10 minutes early and Leon, from Mears Transportation was waiting for us and drove us to Bay Lake Tower. We arrived at 2; check-in time is at 4. We were told Housekeeping was already working inside the room, so we were optimistic. That optimism soon disappeared. SKDL changed clothes and went to the pool, and we chatted with Jim, a DVC representative and our first Pixie Dust List honoree. At 1500, with no resolution of the room situation in sight, Lyd and I went to the Wave Lounge. At 1630, with our room still not ready, I accepted a substitute room on the 7th floor and we finally got a room. This is twice BLT has done this to us. Dave and Vicky Martin brought Isaiah for a visit. At 1830, Lyd and I departed for the Grand Floridian and Citricos. At 2200, with the fireworks going on in the background, it’s 85.
