At 0615, it’s 70 in Providence, with a forecast for rain. Uber reported nothing available to take us to the train station, but the Omni had a taxi “on retainer” and, at 1100, he took us to the Amtrak station. There, we found the in-house café is closed on weekends, so we made due with a few choices from the vending machines. Cliff, the baggage manager, routed our train onto track 3, so the elevator would be available to us, and he personally took us down to the train when it arrived from Boston. He informed us our seat were in first class, and the café car would not be needed. Shermovar was the car’s steward, and he supplied us with scotch and sodas for Lyd and Bourbon and gingers for me. We both chose the cheeseburger and chips which he brought to us. This was a clear improvement over the business class we enjoyed on the trip up the previous weekend. He arranged for Red Cap Russ to meet our Acela train and to get us to the Keystone Service #699 that brought us back to Lancaster. There, Hershey, from Andrew’s Transportation was waiting for us and brough us back to the house, at 2050; end-of-trip
