We were seated by the south windows and Beckey was our server, starting us with glasses of champagne. We had a 50th Anniversary Celebration Menu of Prix Fix (89). Lyd started with a Svedka Martini (12) and I chose Bourbon and Ginger (11). For the Market Inspirations (1st Course), Lyd chose Lobster and Parsnip Bisque of Lobster, Champagne, Crème Fraiche, and a parsnip crisp. I picked the California Grill Sushi Classics Trio of a Blue Crab California Room, Shrimp Tempura Roll and Spicy Kazan Roll. For the Chef’s Journey (2nd Course), Lyd chose Monterey Bay Cioppino with Pink Shrimp, Clams, Mussels, Scallps, Butter Fish, Uni Butter and Crab Sourdough, Rich Tomato Broth and Hanmade Fregola. I picked the Florida Coast Black Grouper with Herbed Basamati Rice, Cashew Chutney, Bok Choy, Baby Shiitake, and Green Curry-Coconut Nage. At 2000, the dining room darkened, and most guests went out on the decks for the Fireworks. For the Sweet Creations (3rd Course) we both picked (To Go) the Lavender Sugar Doughnuts with Blueberry Gin Jam and Pistachio Crumble. We returned to the room. |
