The Plan:
We'll arrive in Rockland, ME at 0630.
We have a harbor lobstering and lighthouse cruise from 0900 to 1100, followed by the Lobster Bake Luncheon for all hands.
At 1830, we sail to Bar Harbor, arriving at 2230
|
At 0510, it’s 63o, in heavy fog, southeast of Rockland, ME.
We delayed docking until ACL Independence vacated our space.
We had early riser coffee in the 4th deck aft, and then had breakfast.
At 0900, with 15 others, we took a bus up the coast to Camden where we boarded the Periwinkle for ride around Camden Harbor and a discussion of lobstering.
Seated in the last row we couldn’t hear the speaker and the trip was unsatisfactory.
We pulled one trap with one male; too small; thrown back.
We returned to the bus and back to the boat.
A little after 12, we were summoned to the busses to go a half mile south to the grounds of a maritime museum for the Lobster Bake.
There, under a large tent, the entire ship’s company enjoyed a seemingly endless supply of lobsters, mussels, corn on the cob, potato salad and cole slaw.
We returned to the boat for naps.
At 1730, we reported to the Chesapeake Lounge for cocktails, and then shortly thereafter went down for dinner.
I was still stuffed from lunch, so I had the two appetizers of Beef Barley Soup and Tomato & Blue Cheese Salad, followed buy Black Cherry Cheese Cake.
Lyd picked the Crab Crusted Beef Tenderloin and finished with Tiramisu.
At 1830, we left the dock, headed for Bucksport, ME. At 2200, it 68o in Buckport.
