We're going to see a Beetlejuice matinee at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.
A little after 9 we drove down to Lancaster for the trip into Philadelphia to see Beetlejuice the Musical. We arrived at the Amtrak Station and used the parking app to pay for parking (10.99) for the day. The train from Harrisburg arrived at 1036, about 8 minutes early and we found 2 seats together for the ride into Philadelphia (75.60 round trip), arriving at 1150. We went out to 30th St, and within about 2 minutes, we were picked up by Uber Driver Askia for the 10 minute trip (15.89) to the Kimmel Center and the Music Theatre. We took the elevator up to the balcony and were shown to the 2nd row of box 36, excellent seats until the 6-foot plus sat in front of me. If you’d never seen the movie, Beetlejuice the Musical would make no sense at all. They cherry-picked from the movie and added songs. The dinner party scene was very well done, but the rest of the show (157.01/seat) was mediocre, though well received by the crowd, many of whom had obviously seen the show before. At 1530, we went out to Broad Street, and about 6 minutes later were picked up by Muhammad for the 10 minute ride (16.99) back to the 30th Street Amtrak Station. We picked up a couple of burgers (23.37) at Wendy’s before joining a very long line waiting to board the train back to Lancaster. The car we boarded had no seats together, so we sat across the aisle from each other and arrived a little after 6. The 35-minute drive home was effortless.
