At 0712, it’s 42o and Bill is headed home.
We left the house a little after 9 and arrived at Lehigh Valley Airport in Allentown at 1030.
Tue, Oct 10: At 0637, it’s 44o and Bill is here from Denver. We watched coverage of the Israeli catastrophe before going to Austin’s for lunch. We came home to naps and more coverage of the Israeli situation. We had crab imperial for dinner, with Elaine’s mom’s tomatoes and peas. In the evening, we watched Game #3 of the American League Division Playoffs of Baltimore at Texas. Mon, Oct 9: At 0748, it’s 49o and Bill is here from Denver. We spent much of the morning watching the coverage of the Hamas attack on Israel and the Israeli response. We had gazpacho and Philly Cheese Steaks for lunch, followed by naps. Lyd made a batch of Crab Dip and I made Tomgolian BBQ for dinner. In the evening, we watched the Braves beat the Phillies 5-4 before switching to Monday Night Football. At 2130, it’s 55o. Sun, Oct 8: At 0723, it’s 50o and Bill is here from Denver. I completed our weekly marketing and Lyd served shrimp omelets and clam chowder for brunch. We watched the Jags defeat Buffalo in London, 25-20, and then moved on to the Ravens at the Steelers. A review of our surveillance cameras established there are 2 woodchucks in the area. We had chicken pistachio and squash casserole for dinner, and watched the Eagles defeat the Rams 23-14. In the evening, we watched the 49ers and Dallas. At 2104, it’s 52o. Sat, Oct 7: At 0645, it’s 63o and Bill is here from Denver. With rain pouring down, we agreed I’ll go to the market tomorrow. Lyd prepped the oysters for stew at lunch and fried for dinner. For lunch we had the sausages, kraut, potato salad and oyster stew. Oklahoma beat Texas 34-30. Texas beat the Orioles 3-2. FSU beat Va Tech 39-17, but Vanderbilt lost to Florida 38-14. Dinner featured Fried Oysters with more crab claw fingers. In the evening we monitored Colorado at Arizona State while watching the Phillies beat the Braves 3-0. At 2115, it’s 56o. Fri, Oct 6: At 0750, it’s 66o. At 0930, Bill and I went back to the Farmers’ Market where he purchased some sausages, kraut, and red potato salad for Monday, and a cucumber to dress a Hendricks and Tonic. We toured through a little of Wyomissing and West Reading on the way home. We had a lunch of leftovers, followed by naps for all hands. We enjoyed a can of claw fingers. Lyd served Steak Diane with Garlic Mashed potatoes and corn pudding for dinner. At the end of dinner, we noticed a herd of 6 deer on the front lawn. After dinner, we watched The Haunted Mansion, and, at 2205, it’s 66o. Thu, Oct 5: At 0702, it’s 54o. We went to Masa for lunch. Bill picked up the check and we brought a bunch home, stopping at the Farmers’ Market to pick up corn on the cob. We had chicken paprika for dinner, and, after dinner Sal, Kate and D brought dessert. At 2140, it’s 70o. Wed, Oct 4: At 0718, it’s 56o, and Bill’s flights are showing on-time. At 1000 (EDT) Flightwise reported his flight had left the gate. Just after 3, Bill was in the air from Charlotte to Allentown and we took the tortuous drive to Allentown. Bill’s plane arrived a little before 5 and we had a much easier drive home. We had crab salad, ham, corn bread, deviled eggs and sliced tomatoes for dinner, followed by lemon chiffon pie. In the evening, we watched game 2 of the NL Wild Card series with the Phillies hosting Miami. At 2115, Lyd and I went up, at 64o, leaving Bill watching the Phillies game, won by Philadelphia 7-1. | |||
