Kate called at 0900 while we were packing. Sal’s being roasted this afternoon by several teachers. Kate’s job is to get them to the plane on time. We visited mother and then hit Walgreen's. Lunch was at Don Passos and we were on the road just before 2. Torrential rain between Palm Coast and Daytona and around Sanford slowed us down a bit, but we pulled into the Contemporary and we were in room 4408 by 1700. I called to tell Kate the room number and got her, not her voice mail. There is no plane. The monitor says it landed at 1630 but it’s not at the gate. She called at 1740 to report that they were boarding, so we anticipate they’ll be an hour late and should get to the hotel around 2115. We went up to the California Grill at 1800. We were expected and were seated, promptly. Dennis came over and took our drink orders. We mentioned that we had been invited to the Disney comment web site for the Contemporary and had mentioned his name and said nice things about him. He said that his name had been on the sign boards at a recent cast meeting and now he knew who had made the comments. Walter was our server. I had a pair of Dennis’s manhattans and Lyd had a Tangueray gin and tonic. I had a marvelous sushi platter and Lyd had the asparagus soup and the fois gras with a glass of Klein Constantia “Vin de Constance”, South Africa ’99. We were permitted to sniff the Macallan 1946 Single Highland Malt which is served at $200/ounce. We were back in the room at 1930. Kate and Sal landed at 2040, but it was 2200 before they reached the hotel, so I went up to the CG and told them we wouldn’t be back until Sunday. We all went down to the Fun Center and they got a light snack. The evening finally ended about 2330. |

Lyd enjoyed a nice bowl of asparagus soup. | This scotch was bottled in 1946. The label says its 52 years old, so the bottle has been here since 1998. It is served at $200 per ounce! | Mattie, or somebody, at the CG needs to look at this picture, carefully. I want to know what is each piece. | Mr. and Mrs. Bones came along for the ride. More about them later |
