The semi-final rounds were held in three rooms and the top 2 teams in each room advanced to the finals.  I read questions in one of the rooms. In the afternoon, the National Championship was held.  I was the announcer and the electronic scorekeeper. Maryland won with Florida second and Missouri 3rd.  more
We took a couple of busses and made our way to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to Jiko for dinner. Anette was busy with a large dinner party and Brett welcomed us. She later joined us. Menu | Dessert | Wine

We started with a pair of cocktails.  Lyd had a Tanqueray martini ($8) and I had a Manhattan ($7.25)
We chose the left side of the "Cooking Place" ($20) and enjoyed samples of: Duck and Pork Firecracker crisp "Spring" rolls with Hoisin sauce and jicama-apple slaw, Lamb "Patis" pulled lamb rolled in Phyllo with Mint-Cilantro Chutney, Lentil "Pastilla" lentil-filled phyllo pockets with sweet-and-sour sauce, Maize and Sweet Potato "Tamales" Herbed maize pudding and truffled sweet potato mash with shredded goat cheese in corn husk boat.

We shared the Cucumber, Tomato and Red Onion Salad with Organic Arugula, Cottage cheese, and watermelon vinaigrette ($8)
Lucius brought us a sorbet to "cleanse the pallet" between courses
Tom's Choice Lyd's Choice
Tamarind-braised Beef Short Rib with Idaho and Sweet Potato Gratin and Onion-Garlic Sauce ($27) Broiled Filet of Wild King Salmon with Avocado, Edamame, Black Chick Pea, Vine Ripened and Pear Tomato Salad, Harissa Vinaigrette, and Harissa Yogurt ($26)
Kimi is from Orlando and is as cute as she can be. Lucius was our server and treated us well. Kimi and Jessica run the Cooking Place and produce great food

Tonight we actually went down to the end of the hall and watched the fireworks and then, from the room, watched the boat parade on this, our last night.
