We selected the Lagoon at the Fountain for Thursday's dinner for 5. Thursday’s dinner was at the Lagoon at the Fountain Restaurant and was not particularly good. Though the dining room was far from crowded, we were seated in close quarters to other tables which made negotiating the seats rather difficult. We were also seated near the porch which had live entertainment. We ordered drinks and the service was a bit slow. We weren’t offered drink refills. Margaret and Lyd each ordered a cup of the cream of crab soup (5) which was OK. Victor had a Greek salad and Tom a Caesar, each as sides to their entrees. Margaret’s entrée was the crab cake sandwich with fries (11.99). Lyd ordered the same. The crab cake was adequate but the fries were horrid. Elaine had the shrimp salad sandwich (9.99). Victor wanted the chicken salad and fried oysters, but they were out of oysters so he settled for the single crab cake (15.99) with asparagus. Tom had the half rack of St. Louis ribs (13.99) with a side of slaw. The ribs were pretty good. Service was a bit poor and our first course was followed too quickly by the main courses. This was not one of our best nights.
