FEBRUARY AT DISNEY WORLD
February 13-18, 2011
We enjoyed the week of Lyd's 62nd birthday at Bay Lake Tower at Walt Disney World.

We were up at 7 and decided today would be Hollywood Studios. We boarded a bus at the Contemporary and arrived at Hollywood Studios about 0920. We did a little shopping for Nico and then had a light breakfast at Starring Rolls, a bakery next to the Brown Derby. We then went through the Great Movie Ride followed by the Art of Animation. We did the Little Mermaid stage show which we had not ever done. We ended up in the front row. We’ll do it again, but we’ll keep to the left in the pre-show area so we are seated more towards the back.

From there we took the bus back to Bay Lake Towers. After a rest, we caught a bus back to the Animal Kingdom. When we left the Polynesian, our last stop before the AK, we were the only folks on the bus. We asked the driver and he got permission to take us to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, instead, for our dinner reservation at Jiko.

After dinner, rather than fight the multiple busses back to Bay Lake Tower, we splurged and took a cab ($25). We got home just before 2000 so we went to the 16th floor on the verandah of BLT and I captured a video of the fireworks. As soon as it’s loaded into You Tube, I’ll post the link. The cast member who took us up in the elevator warned us there was no sound, but that turned out to be misinformation. Upon our return to the room, Lyd went to bed.
