Katia was born as Tropical Depression 12 on Tuesday, August 29th.
She became Tropical Storm Katia 24 hours later.
By late Wednesday she was a hurricane aimed for Bermuda.
She became a Category 2 on Sunday and a Category 3 on Monday.
Katia threaded a careful course north of Puerto Rico and the Bahamas and east of the US coast while staying west of Bermuda.
She turned north on Thursday and then northeast.
By the midday on Saturday, the 10th, she was post cyclonic and destined to drop heavy rains over Great Britain.
