Lyd had never seen the Grand Canyon, so we booked "Southwest Splendors," an "Adventure by Disney."

We slept until 0730 in Moab, UT. After breakfast, we spent the morning on the deck of our cabin on the banks of the Colorado River, with the soft rumble of the rapids right off our deck. We had hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch and then headed a few miles upstream for a boat ride of seven miles down stream through class 1 & 2 rapids, including those outside our cabin, in 3 rubber pontoon boats. Amy was our captain. We got wet (I left the camera in the cabin), but it was a lot of fun. From there it was back to the cabin. Dinner was an old-fashioned hoedown with grilled rib-eyes and a country duo. We’re not that fond of country music. We gathered in a small assembly room and shared our feelings about the trip. We then saw the slide show that the Dan, Tiffany and Mike had already created. We’ll be receiving a copy of it, soon. From there it was out to the campfire for smores and more songs.
