AMERICAN CRUISE LINES
Mississippi River Cruise
|< <<< Tuesday, Mar 5 >>> >|
We're sailing to and from New Orleans, aboard the "Queen of the Mississippi" on our 2nd cruise with American Cruise Lines.
At 0624, it’s 64 on the Mississippi River, sailing upriver, to Vicksburg. We had early morning tea and coffee and then went down to the main dining room for breakfast. At 9, Toots talked about Vicksburg and the Battlefield Tour. By 1000, we had landed, in the Yazoo River, in Vicksburg. Toots took a tour group over to the Mississippi Museum, and the shuttle bus was taking passengers into Vicksburg, both without us. At 1230, we went to the dining salon for lunch. At 1345, the majority of the passengers joined two large motor coaches for the tour of the Vicksburg Battlefield, which was very interesting. We returned to the ship at 1700, and soon went down for cocktails. We sailed, promptly, at 1730 and started back downriver. At 1830, we went to the dining salon and our customary table, aft. In the evening, Lyd stayed in the room and I went down for the trivia night and Bingo, winning a ladies small polo shirt.
