We were promptly seated at the high bar.
Moments later, Brendan Davis, Class of 2008 at Bennett High School, in Salisbury, and a Guest Service Manager at Flying Fish presented himself.
He announced he has been trying to connect with us on previous visits, but wasn’t working and finally was able to introduce himself.
Lyd started with a Dewars and Soda (8) while I had my Maker’s Mark Manhattan
(10).
We also split a bottle of Fess Parker Riesling (44) and split an order of
Chardonnay-steamed Prince Edward Island Mussels (19) with fennel, chiles, pesto crema and ciabatta crostini.
For her entrée, Lyd selected, as she has before, Flying Fish Café’s Idaho Potato-wrapped Red Snapper
(40) with creamy leek fondue, veal glace de Viande-Red Wine-Cassis butter.
I, of course, had the Chef’s Special Thunder From The Sea (34), which, tonight, is a
Pan-Roasted Blackened Port Canaveral Day-Boat Black Drum with smokey bacon-laced fingerling potato and roasted vegetable hash, wilted greens, stone-ground mustard butter emulsion.
