At 0643, it’s 70 at Bay Lake Tower at Walt Disney World.
We left the room at 0800 and took the monorail over to the Grand Floridian Hotel.
We walked out to Senses where Lyd had the most relaxing, soothing facial at the hands of Sica; 90 minutes of ecstatic indulgence.
Meanwhile, I walked back to the Grand Floridian Convention Center and joined the Dreaded Day meeting of the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge, at which I officiated for 17 years, but from which I have retired from active duty from this, their 30th competition.
At 1030, I secured Lyd and we boarded a bus for Hollywood Studios.
When we arrived, our first task was to solidify the renewal of our Annual Passes.
Pat (from the Berkshires in MA) noticed we were DVC members and told us we had purchased the wrong annual passes and had paid too much.
Rather than send us to Customer Service to rectify my error, she called and asked a supervisor to come to her window to process the refund into a $220 gift card.
How often does a guest leave the ticket window with more money than when they got there? That certainly earns a spot on our
Pixie Dust List.
From there, we went to The Hollywood Brown Derby for lunch.
Following lunch, we joined the FastPass+ line for Toy Story Mania, where I easily scored twice the number of points as did Lyd.
With the temperature now in the 90’s, we elected to return to the room for luxurious naps.
Not wanting to deal with the busses, at 1830, we took a cab from BLT to the Boardwalk and then went down to Flying Fish.
Following dinner, we took another cab back to BLT, arriving just in time to view the fireworks from our own balcony.
By 2200, we were both in bed.
