At check in, they confirmed our seating at the sushi counter, where Justin was our server for the evening.
I started with the first of 3 Maker’s Mark Manhattans (10@) and Lyd had a Scotch and Soda (7.25).
Lyd ordered a Crab and Beef Oscar Roll (26) with California Asparagus, seared rare beef, tarragon aioli, and plum sauce.
I started with Crisy Rock Shrimp Salad (18) with spicy baby greens, Subarashii pears, soy reduction and Wasabi cream.
Darlene brought us a taste of Corn risotto and Lyd had glasses of a Conundrum Blend (14@).
For her entrée, Lyd ordered the Seared Jumbo Scallops (48) with spring onion fondue, sautéed asparagus, heirloom carrot salad, and Meyer Lemon-veal glace.
For me, they combined on one platter a Dragon Roll (25) of spicy and tataki tuna, shrimp tempura, avocado, dragon sauce, and Hijiki-Shirataki Salad; and also a Spicy-Kazan Roll (26) of crab, shrimp, scallops, tuna and fireball sauce.
By 8:40, we were finished and headed back to the room. |
