Tom has chosen Ropewalk, in Ocean City, for Thursday's lunch. This is a new place for us, but might be selected when Patsy comes in April. We arrived to an empty dining room, not unusual in a beach resort on a Thursday in February. Lyd had the house Cabernet (3.65@). As the designated driver, I had ice tea (3.99). That would seem to be a high price for ice tea, except it's a pitcher of tea with a straw. We elected to start with a pair of appetizers. Angels on Horseback (12) is three crispy oysters served with Apple-wood smoked bacon and Chipotle Horseradish sauce and may be the best fried oysters we have ever enjoyed. The other appetizer was Ropewalk Hickory Smoked Wings (on sale at 5) of 6 wings with a bleu cheese dressing and celery. We chose the Victory sauce, which was excellent. For her entrée, Lyd chose Lobster Pot Pie (24) of Maine lobster, oyster mushrooms, green peas, potatoes and fresh corn in a brandy cream sauce topped with puff pastry. I picked the Seafood Cobb Salad (19) of field greens topped with jumbo lump crab, shrimp, bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, tomatoes and fresh corn with the server's recommended Citrus Vinaigrette. This was an outstanding lunch and we will be back. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
