Background
We left the room at 1645 and took the monorail back to the Grand Floridian and to Victoria and Albert's. We were warmly greeted by Israel, the Maitre d'Hotel and by Sharron, once again, our server for the evening. She introduced us to Al, her partner for the evening. We had already decided we would be having the 10 course Tasting Menu (235) and we added the Sommelier Reserve Wine Pairing (150). #1) An Amuse Bouche of Cauliflower Panna Cotta with Siberian Caviar and Champagne Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose;
#2) Roulade of Smoked Salmon and Alaskan King Crab with Chateau Rahoul Blanc, Graves. [These two courses were repeats from our November experience. The menu changes quarterly, or, if you dine more frequently, it changes more frequently.]
#3) Wild Turbot with Toasted Capers and Preserved Lemon with Lail Vineyards Blueprint Sauvignon Blanc, Napa 2014;
#4) Black Sesame Crusted Tuna with Soba Noodles and Weingut Robert Weil Kiedrich Turmberg Riesling Rheingau 2014;
#5) Seared Maine Diver Scallop with Roasted Cauliflower and Maison Vincent Girardin Puligny-Montrachet Vielles VignesBourgogne 2013;
#6) Truffled Bell of Evans Chicken with Caramelized Onion Jam and Domaine Chauvenet-Chopin Chambolle-Musigny, Bourgogne 2013;
#7) Lamb Loin and Belly, with Smoked Paprika-Red Pepper Sauce and Chateau de Beaucastel Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge, Rhone 2013;
#8) Australian Kobe-Style Been Tenderloin with Bordelaise Sauce and Chateau Rauzan-Segla, Margaux 2008;
#9) A selection of cheese [which went back to the room] and Jarvis Cabernet Franc, Napa 2011; and
#10) Green Apple Mousse with Sour Cream Ice Cream and Peruvian Chocolate Crunch with Rare Wine Co. Historic Series Baltimore Rainwater Madeira.
An assortment of fine candies also returned to the room. Four hours after we had started, and long after the fireworks had ended, we said our goodbyes, left a Pixie Dust Card on Elizabeth's music stand, and returned on the monorail.
