| First Semester, 2020-2021 | |||

With Covid-19 still in pandemic status, Dominic and Leo will be doing school, for at least the first semester, remotely.
One day per week they will be with us. D (6th grade), and his school-owned tablet, will base in the dining room, and Leo (3rd grade), with the same equipment, has a card table in the living room. They don't have the same lunch break, so Lyd prepares lunch for each to be ready when they come out. | |||

Thursday, Mar 18, 2021: The boys arrived for their last Virtual School day and went straight to work while the rain poured down. We all had Bubba Burgers for lunch, and I wrote to D’s teacher to thank her for all of her hard work. They left a little before 4 and, Kate picked up their stuff They will return to their in-person classrooms on March 22nd, where Leo will still have Mrs. Wojo, and D will have a different teacher. Monday, Mar 8, 2021: The boys arrived at 0800. They had meatball subs for lunch again. They left around 3 and Kate arrived just before 5 to pickup their stuff. Spring Break is coming. Monday, Mar 1, 2021: The boys arrived at 0800 while we were clearing out the fridge. They had meatball subs for lunch and then watched Coco. They left around 4 and Kate arrived just before 5 to pickup their stuff. Monday, Feb 22, 2021: The boys arrived for Virtual School before 8. The snow started a little after 9. We all had hot dogs for lunch, with crinkle fries. Kate’s office closed early, and she came at 3 to pick up the boys’ stuff. Tuesday, Feb 16, 2021: The 15th was Presidents' Day and the boys were in Exeter. The boys arrived at 8 for a day of virtual school. Leo moved his base from the living room to the kitchen table. They left at 1545 to head home. Kate came at 1645 to pick up their stuff. Monday, Feb 8, 2021: The boys are here for Virtual School. They left their bikes at home. With no friends available, they watched Muppets Most Wanted before heading home at 1615. Kate picked up their stuff and reported they will spend Presidents' Day oin Exeter. Monday, Feb 1, 2021: The boys should have been here for Virtual School, but the heavy snow kept them home. Monday, Jan 25, 2021: The boys were here for Virtual School, leaving at 1500 to visit friends. Monday, Jan 18, 2021: The boys arrived at 0818. Whereas it was not a school day, they enjoyed tablet time and we watched Robin Hood: Men in Tights and The Producers before they left at 1515. Kate picked up their stuff and we decided to postpone the WDW trip from this June to next June. Tuesday, Jan 05, 2021: The boys arrived at 0800 and helped us move the Christmas tree to the curb on Logan. We made Zuppa Toscana and Lentil Soup. Lyd and the boys had hot dogs for lunch and I had the rest of the crispy pork. The boys left around 1530 and Kate picked up their stuff at 1700 Monday, Dec 28, 2020: DL arrived at 0815 for a non-school day. They read and Lyd made potato latkes. We spent a few hours playing Civilization V, projected to the TV, before they left at 1500 to go visit friends. Monday, Dec 21, 2020: The boys arrived at 0800 for Virtual School. Later, the boys tried to travel to friends’ homes, but they were not available. We then purchased Muppet Christmas Carol from Prime Video. Kate picked up their stuff Monday, Dec 14, 2020: The boys arrived at 8 for a day of mostly independent study while it snowed outside. Kate came near 5 to pick up their stuff. I sent holiday greetings to both teachers. Monday, Dec 7, 2020: The boys arrived at 8 for virtual school and went straight to work. We printed our Christmas cards and prepared them for mailing. Leo had ravioli for lunch and D had a pair of cappicola sandwiches. They left for friends at 1555 and a large tub of goodies arrived from Bill, soon thereafter. Kate picked up the boys’ stuff and took a chunk of Bill’s goodies. Tuesday, Dec 1, 2020: We switched with Ann and Santo, so the boys were here at 8 for the return to school. I got a haircut and Lyd made an apple pancake for all of us for lunch. The playmate of a sibling of a friend of the boys has tested positive for Covid, so the boys have been grounded from seeing any of those friends. We watched Naked Gun 33 1/3 and they left at 4 for home. Kate arrived soon thereafter to pick up their bookbags. Monday, Nov 23, 2020: Wyomissing Area Schools were closed for the Thanksgiving Holidays, so the boys joined us for a day of fun, including Ray's O-guage trains, Civilization on the computer, and take-out lunch from Mission BBQ. When we got home, the chicken sandwich was missing. I called Mission BBQ and they credited the sandwich. We continued Civilization until the guys elected to finish Dr. Seuss, The Grinch. At 1510, they left to go visit friends. Monday, Nov 16, 2020: Switching to Mondays, today went well, with lunch ordered from Bella's Pizza. Saturday, Nov 14, 2020: Kate has put in a request that the boys be here on Mondays instead of Tuesdays and we agreed. Tuesday, Nov 10, 2020: Another good day of school; sandwiches for lunch and they gave their approval to the Chocolate Crinkle Cookies we baked in the morning. Tuesday, Nov 03, 2020: Another good day of school, with Bubba Burgers for lunch. D reports a 96% on the math test. Tuesday, Oct 27, 2020: Another good day of school, with raviolis for lunch, then off to friends. Tuesday, Oct 20, 2020: Dominic has a cough, so Kate kept them at home for the day. Tuesday, Oct 13, 2020: They arrived at 8 and went straight to their rooms. Lyd made sandwiches and zuppa Tuscana for lunch. At 3, they were finished and off to visit friends. Tuesday, Oct 06, 2020: They arrivd at 0800 and both went directly to their "classrooms." We had ravioli for lunch and, during the lunch breaks, the boys helped put out Halloween decorations. At 1450, they were done and gone to visit friends Tuesday, Sep 29, 2020: They arrivd at 0800 and both went directly to their "classrooms." We had Mama's Pizza delievered for lunch, and at 1435, they were done and gone to visit friends Tuesday, Sep 22, 2020: The boys arrived at 0802 for Virtual School and finished about 1400, headed home. Kate came at 1640 to secure their school stuff. Tuesday, Sep 15, 2020: The boys spent their first full school day with us, with Leo and his school tablet on a card table in the living room, and Dominic at the dining room table with his equipment. The supplies we ordered from Amazon began to arrive. Friday, Sep 04, 2020: We will soon adopt some of their school-day responsibilities as they will be with us every Tuesday. Wednesday, Aug 05, 2020: Kate announces the boys will be attending school via Virtual School. |
