At 0555, it’s 63 in Block Island and we are in the process of casting off for Newport, RI, about 2.5 hours north. As we finished breakfast, we were tying up in Newport. Following a relaxing morning, we went down for lunch. I had the Yellow Fin Tuna over chopped salad, peas, Bell peppers, carrots, cucumbers, chopped eggs, mix greens and a balsamic vinaigrette and Lyd selected the Southern Style Chicken and Dumplings with stewed garden vegetables & herbs, and creamy chicken thyme broth. We both finished with slices of Boston Cream Pie. We spent the afternoon on the boat, with the balcony door open, facilitating naps for both of us. At 1730, we secured drinks and went directly down for dinner with our same group of friends. Lyd had Crab Crusted Salmon over herb wild rice pilaf, broccoli rabe with a Bearnaise Sauce. I selected the Braised Short Rib of beef with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Root Vegetables and braising jus. I finished with Cheesecake with chocolate sauce, and Cody brought a slice for Lyd, too.
