At 0545, it’s 66 in Newport, RI. We left at 0800 for Bristol. We were supposed to leave at 9, but the Harbormaster asked us to leave early to make room for the Newport Jazz festival arrivals. At 0945, we tied up in Bristol, RI. Though the temp was beautiful, it was too bright to work on deck 4, so we relaxed in the room until lunch. At 1200, we walked across the parking lot to the large tent for lunch. At 1215, the bar opened, and at 1230, the results of the Lobsterbake made it to our plates. At 1400, we returned to the room for naps. At 1715, we departed Bristol RI, to cross Bristol Harbor, Mount Hope Bay, and the state line, to return to Falls River, MA. We went down for the last cocktail party at 1730 and secured drinks and went on down to the dining room. We were both quite full from lunch, so we each had a cup of the Lobster Bisque and I had a slice of cheesecake from the new pastry counter. Though we’re supposed to put our bags out tonight, before bed, we’re not going to do that, but will bring them down in the morning. |
