Proprietor Israel visited with us and shared that V&A will reopen sometime this summer and Elizabeth will be returning as harpist. When our table was ready, he took us in. Lyd had another martini (14) and I repeated my Manhattan (15). Lyd chose the Strawberry Salad (16) of Chamomile Infused Goat Cheese, Frisee Lettuce, Bacon Vinaigrette and Spiced Sunflower seeds. I picked the Citrus-cured Hamachi (21) of Passion Fruit Nuoc Cham, Compressed Star Fruit, Pasilla Oil and Blood Orange Puffed Tapioca. Lyd selected the Tilefish (46) with Jupiter Rice Chorizo “Risotto”, Key West Pink Shrimp and confit tomatoes. Though the menu said Cobia, my selection was actually Mahi Mahi (42) with mashed fingerling potatoes, grilled asparagus, local mushrooms and grapefruit Buerre Blanc. We took a little bit, of both, back to the room. |
