At 0651, it’s 67o at Walt Disney World, and we’re headed for the Magic Kingdom. We left the room at 0830 and took the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom, arriving moments after the 0900 rope-drop. The crowds were heavy. We went directly to Pirates of the Caribbean and had only a short wait. The line at the Haunted Mansion was already 45 minutes, so we skipped that, as well as Small World. We did enjoy Mickey’s Philharmagic which had changed since our last exposure. We headed to the Tomorrowland Transit People Mover, and, for the first time in our memories, there was a line --- a LONG line. We went, instead, to the Carousel of Progress. When we came out, someone had stolen my monorail-style Covid mask, hanging from my scooter. We went back to the Crystal Palace and had an early lunch. Back to the room for naps. At 1530, Buena Vista Rentals picked up the scooter. At 1730, with clouds gathering, we took the resort monorail over to the Grand Floridian Resort. As we headed out to dinner, we flagged down Nor, and he gave us a lift to Narcoossee’s. When we were finished, we called the Bell Desk, and Nor sent a colleague to take us back to the main building and the resort monorail back to the Contemporary. At 1930, there were sprinkles on the monorail windows and a little spray on the walkway from the Contemporary to BLT at 1945. At 2000, heavy rain fell, obscuring the Grand Floridian across the lagoon. There were no monorails and no fireworks. One monorail returned to the barn, and the express monorail never resumed. At 2054, it’s 72o.
