The Plan: We're scheduled to arrive in Detroit about 0800, leaving at 1300 to proceed up Lake Huron to Parry Sound, ON, on Georgian Bay, arriving Thursday at 1130. No excursions.
At 0650, it’s 65o, an hour south of Detroit in the Detroit River. At 0730, we went down to breakfast just as we were tying up in Detroit, on the west side of the river. We relaxed in the room until lunch, when the boat departed Detroit headed for Parry Sound, ON. Lyd had the Spinach Pie and Braised Chicken Teriyaki, and I had the Roasted Peach Salad, Spring Noodle Soup and Grilled Reuben Sandwich. We both had lengthy naps as we sailed through St. Clair Lake and north on the St. Clair River between Michigan (to port), and Ontario (to starboard). At 1730, we went down for cocktails where the cruise director mentored a game of 2 truths and 1 lie and we had to guess the lie from each passenger. Less than 10 passengers turned in the sheet. From there we went down to dinner. Lyd had the Lobster Souffle followed by the Roast Prime Rib of Beef. I had the Smoked Salmon Tartar and Bouillabaisse, also followed by the Prime Rib. Though we had not planned on dessert, when it came for others, we changed our minds. Lyd finished with the Vanilla Panna Cotta, and I had the Chocolate Raspberry Terrine. We returned to the room, and with the glass door open to Lake Huron, at 2030, it was 70o.
