We enjoyed the week of Lyd's 62nd birthday at Bay Lake Tower at Walt Disney World.

Today was a travel day. Our first flight was to leave Salisbury Airport at 0715; due to arrive in Philadelphia at 0800. We were scheduled to leave Philadelphia at 1000 and be in Orlando at 1241. Chris Peters, Mears Transportation, was to pick us up and take us to Bay Lake Towers (BLT). Dinner was scheduled for 1800 at Artist Point, in Wilderness Lodge. I had written to Matt, our friend and sous chef, to tell him we're coming.
We awoke at 0455, which was fortuitous as I had set the alarm for 5 PM instead of 5 AM as we intended. We dressed, finished packing and left the house at 0610. The check-in at the Salisbury airport was better than most. With my two artificial hips, security screening is often very personal. In Orlando, on previous trips, I felt I should have been given wine and dinner to go with such an intimate screening. In Salisbury, it’s not too bad. The flight to Philadelphia was brief and we landed on runway 35, across the regular traffic, about 15 minutes early. We took the shuttle bus from terminal F to terminal A and had a pair of egg sandwiches at a Japanese restaurant in terminal A. We boarded USA 1020, a B767, at 0930 and left the gate, on time, at 1000. This being Philadelphia, that wasn’t all there was. We were #10 for departure and, for some reason, they weren’t using all the available runways, so it was another 30 minutes before we were in the air. We arrived at the Orlando International Airport (MCO) on schedule. Although we were expecting Chris Peters from Mears Transportation, Derrick, from Jamaica, was there in his place. We checked into room 8040 in the Bay Lake Tower. This is a room on the 10th floor, facing the marina. I took a 4 minute video of the view from our balcony and posted it on YouTube. We went down to the 4th floor of the Contemporary and did a little shopping. About 1720, we took the launch over to the Wilderness Lodge for our dinner at Artist Point. Following this scrumptious dinner, we took the launch back to the Contemporary via Fort Wilderness. The fireworks started while we were in the middle of Bay Lake. I’ll post videos of that later. Lyd went straight to bed.
