We're spending the week of Lyd's 62nd birthday at Bay Lake Tower at
Walt Disney World.

|
We're starting our fifth decade at Walt Disney World with a week in mid-February.
We flew down from Salisbury, Maryland on Sunday, February 13th, through Philadelphia.
Chris Peters, of Mears Transportation, was to pick us up at the Orlando airport an take us to Bay Lake Tower (BLT) at the Contemporary Hotel.
We joined the Disney Vacation Club last summer and this is our 2nd stay at BLT.
Our advanced dinner reservations (ADR) are all complete.
I did them online, going in through the DVC portal and it was easy.
We got exactly what we wanted, but it is February, after all.
We have annual passes, so we don't need park tickets.
Being Senior citizens, it's our habit to get up early and hit the park-de-jour when it opens.
We walk around and, if a line for an attraction is 15 minutes, or less, we'll get in line.
Anything longer is too long.
We'll probably have a light lunch in the park each day and then go back to BLT for a rest.
One of the major reasons for going to WDW is the fine Disney restaurants.
Sunday, the 13th, we were at Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge, where Matt, the sous chef, has been a friend for years.
Monday, we'll pick a park and go.
We don't always have a plan when we go downstairs.
If we're going to EPCOT, we'll head for the monorail.
If we haven't decided, we'll head for the Contemporary bus zone.
If a Hollywood Studios bus shows up before the Animal Kingdom bus, then that's what we'll do.
If no bus comes right away, we may walk over to the Magic Kingdom.
Monday night, we're at the California Grill.
Being Valentine's Day, we had a little trouble with the online ADR system, so I had to pull a few strings to get two seats at Yoshie's sushi counter.
We're hoping Gary, our favorite Hawaiian, will be our server.
Tuesday, we'll face the same moment of indecisiveness enroute to a park and probably face it the same way.
Tuesday night, we'll take a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for our dinner at Jiko.
We'll sit at the "Cooking Place" which is the counter.
Wednesday morning, we will be headed for MK.
We're meeting two old friends, Mike and Andrea, from Jacksonville, who, like Tom, are retired elementary school principals.
We promise not to talk shop.
In the evening, Lyd and I are taking them to the Flying Fish Cafe on the Boardwalk.
We have a lot of friends among the cast there, so it'll be nice to see who's working that night.
Thursday, we'll probably hit what ever park has been missed earlier in the week.
Thursday night, our last night, will be spent (as it is every trip) at Citricos in the Grand Floridian Hotel.
Friday, Chris will take us back to MCO for the flights home.
Our next trip will be in April.
