Chesapeake Bay Cruise

We took a cruise on the Chesapeake Bay on American Cruise Lines for our 38th anniversary.

At 0500, the Captain could be heard ordering our departure from Crisfield.
The strong winds left the captain with the choice of leaving either a crewman or a spring line behind and he chose to leave the spring line.
Four foot seas are evident as we went south west to Tangier, then back north past Deal Island and west into the Hooper Strait and then back into the Chesapeake.
We had a presentation about the cruise line.
We docked in Cambridge with the same wind pushing us off of the dock.
The captain had quite a chore getting us in, but did so.
For lunch, Lyd had the Baked Spinach and Artichoke in Phyllo with cucumber yogurt sauce and mescaline greens, followed by the
Roast Ham on High Crown Wheat with honey dijon, cheddar grits and herbed sweet potatoes.
I started with a Mixed Green Salad with diced tomato, crumbled bacon, bleu cheese and shaved red onion, followed by a
Chicken Caesar Salad.
Supply trucks arrived to resupply us with provisions and fuel.
The shore excursions were not interesting and we did not go ashore.
We had cocktails at 1730.
For dinner, we both started with the Shrimp Bisque. Lyd had the Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes with roasted red pepper remoulade, rice pilaf, and a corn roasted tomato, black bean medley.
I had the Thinly Sliced Long Island Duck Breast with rice pilaf, braised cabbage, broccoli & port wine sauce.
I had tiramisu, but Lyd skipped dessert.
