We went to Wyomissing for Independence Day.
|
Thursday:
Following Margaret’s normal R&R, Lyd got home at 0820.
We took Buddy to Weeping Willow and were on the road at 0850.
We stopped at Chick-fil-A for sandwiches.
Heavy traffic delayed us until 1030 at Dover.
From there, it was fast moving to Wyomissing, arriving at 1245 with only a little rain near Morgantown.
Kate, to our surprise, had the day off and she and the boys were waiting for us.
We all played in the afternoon.
Sal joined us and Kate made a dinner of Shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes.
Around 1845, it started raining.
Arthur, now a hurricane, is still moving up the coast and is near the South Carolina, North Carolina border.
Friday:
The parade in Wyomissing has been postponed to tomorrow, but Lyd doesn’t want to stay the extra day.
We had deli sandwiches for lunch and when the cloud cover broke, we opened up the windows as Arthur passed on up the coast.
Sal grilled burgers, dogs and kale to go along with Kate’s chick-pea salad for dinner.
Saturday:
At 0532, it’s 57 in Wyomissing with clear skies.
We were on the road at 0628 with the least amount of traffic in memory.
We picked up Buddy and were home by 1008.
