At 0549, it’s 55 with a light rain in Kake.
There is still no internet connection.
We sailed at 0600 for Petersburg .
Following breakfast, we were scheduled to fly kites off of the 4th deck, but it was too cold, so we had Bloody Marys in the Chesapeake Lounge.
We spotted whales in Frederick Sound.
For lunch, we both had the West Coast Shellfish Chowder and poached Filet of Sole.
We docked in Petersburg at noon, but there was a glitch in the dock schedule and it was needed for the refueling of the fishing fleet, so we returned to the water in search of more whales.
At 1715, the Captain held a reception in the Chesapeake Lounge.
Midway through his presentation, an eagle was spotted on a passing ice floe.
For dinner, we both had the grilled Asparagus Salad.
Lyd had Roasted Portobello Mushroom Ravioli and I had Cumin Crusted Pacific Cod.
In the evening, we saw more whales.
